Support Cox
To
support
the
Coxswain,
you
should
aim
to
be
a
reliable
member
of
the
crew,
and
to
accept
some
of
the load of responsibility.
As
you
now
hold
an
Able
Volunteer
grading
it
is
important
for
you
to
build
up
experience
on
how
to
support
the
Coxswain
and
start
to
take
on
the
responsibilities of that role.
While
preparing
to
go
to
sea,
you
might
be
responsible
for
ensuring
the
right
ropes
are
handled
during mooring or casting off.
During
extended
trips,
you
could
be
assigned
a
key
role within the Watch team.
The
skipper
will
rely
on
you
to
complete
those
tasks
and
others
independently
but
expect
you
to
seek
assistance if you are unable to do so.
