Welcome to the Pathway. The Pathway is a training tool designed to guide you through your journey with the Maritime Volunteer Service [MVS] and enable you to record knowledge and achievements. It covers four branches Seamanship; Engineering; Operational Management; Community Response but the information provided on this website covers only Seamanship. There are five stages available that can be completed. These are as follows. NEW ENTRANT Undergoing Induction and Foundation Training [Allowed afloat under supervision] VOLUNTEER Passed Induction and Foundation courses [Allowed afloat as crew member] ABLE VOLUNTEER Qualified to support the Coxswain. LEADING VOLUNTEER Senior hand; RYA Power Boat Level 2 SENIOR VOLUNTEER Advancement dependent upon skill and experience levels.
