integrates
the
Volunteer
agencies
with
the
civil
Authorities
and
Blue
light .
Local
resilience
forums
bring
together
emergency
services,
councils,
utilities
and
other
essential
public
and
voluntary
services
to
work
in
partnership
to
support
the
local
community
during
incidents
and
emergencies.
For
example
through
the
Sussex
Resilience
Forum
(SRF),
organisations
work
together
to
prepare
for,
respond to, and recover from emergencies.
The
SRF
is
responsible
for
coordinating
and
testing
emergency
plans
and
procedures
so
that
member
organisations
are
prepared
to
meet
their
duties
specified under the Civil Contingencies Act.
During
an
incident
or
emergency,
members
of
the
resilience
forum
work
together
to
support
the
organisation/s that are leading the response.
The
Sussex
Resilience
Forum
is
hosted
on
behalf
of
all partners by Sussex Police.
All
active
members
will
be
trained
to
DEFRA
MOD1
with
Annex H - Water Safety Awareness.
Working
near
water
carries
inherent
risks,
including
sudden
immersion,
cold
shock,
unstable
ground,
fast
moving
water,
and
flood-related
hazards.
This
training
ensures
that
those
who
are
not
rescuers
but
whose
roles
place
them
near
water
are
prepared
to
protect
themselves
and
reduce
risks,
both
for
themselves
and
the wider team.
